House of the first Caliph – Hazrat Abu Bakar Saddique (RA)
The house of the Abu Bakr (RA) was adjacent to the western wall of Masjid e Nabawi at the time of the Prophet. The main door of the house was situated in the west wall of the mosque (Masjid e Nabwi). There was another door which was install in the easter wall of the mosque (Masjid E Nabwi) that was a small door. The small door of eastern wall provided an easy access to the mosque (Masjid e Nabwi). Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said “Close all those doors which open into the mosque except the door of the house of Abu Bakr (may Allah be please with them).”
During the time of Hazrat Umar (RA) (may Allah be please be with him) as a caliph he extend the area of mosque (Masjid e Nabvi), he includ the house of Abu Bakr (RA) in extension. But he installed a door in the new western wall of the mosque (Masjid e Nabawi) that was in the line with the real door of the Abu Bakr’s home.
As a result whenever mosque (Masjid e Nabawi) was extend in western direction, tis door was move western in line with the original door. This was in obedience to the statement (instructions) of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
During the first Saudi extension, this door extended out again. It now consists of three doors and the southern side’s door is in line. With the original door of Abu Bakr’s house. Whenever pilgrims goes to perform hajj they always run to visit this place. It is one of the holy places which people used to visit and calls it Ziyarah.
